IN BRIEF

Excellent articles on education in an Orthopaedic Journal?  Well, yes! Take a look at the August 2006 issue (449) of Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research.  If you struggle with the concept of the hidden curriculum, the article from Gofton and Regehr is most insightful. In addition there are other gem articles from leaders on Professionalism. Frederic Hafferty (p193-204) analyses very comprehensively the meaning of professionalism, Richard Cruess writes on teaching professionalism and Sylvia Cruess on medicine s relationship with society. Louise Arnold offers a very useful overview on assessing and remediating professional behaviour.
